Know exactly how much concrete you need before you call the ready-mix truck or start hauling bags. Enter slab dimensions, and we'll give you cubic yards, cubic feet, and bag counts in seconds.
- 01
Measure the slab or pour area — length, width, and depth (thickness).
- 02
Enter all three dimensions into the calculator.
- 03
Calculate to see cubic yards for ready-mix and bag counts for 60-lb and 80-lb sacks.
- 04
Add 5–10% for waste and uneven ground, especially for footings and irregular shapes.
- DIYers pouring a patio, walkway, or shed foundation.
- Contractors ordering ready-mix for a slab or driveway.
- Landscapers estimating concrete for retaining walls and steps.
Should I order ready-mix or bagged concrete?+
For pours under 1 cubic yard, bags are usually more practical. Over 2 yards, ready-mix is cheaper and less labor-intensive. Between 1–2 yards, it's a judgment call based on access and timeline.
How much extra should I order?+
Add 5–10% for slab pours (uneven subgrades, spillage). For footings and columns, add up to 15% since form alignment is less predictable.
What depth should my slab be?+
4 inches for standard patios/walkways, 6 inches for driveways, and 8–12 inches for structural footings or heavy equipment pads.
